The Broncos don't have it easy. Let's assume that each team holds serve at home. The Pats face Indy, Green Bay, San Diego and the Jets on the road. The Broncos face the Raiders, Rams, San Diego, KC and the Bengals on the road. Looks like a toss-up to me. Both teams have three very "lose-able" road games. Both teams will be 13-3 or 12-4 at the end of the regular season. Tie-breaker goes to the Patriots. I like your chances in the AFC this year. I also think that the AFC wins the Super Bowl this year.

Did anybody enjoy yesterday's football results as much as I did?

Did anybody enjoy yesterday's football results as much as I did? Whoa, a throw-down! Usually you avoid the gloat thing - since you're kind of superstitious that way! The playoffs are what matter of course, and the Patriots have not won a meaningful playoff game in a couple of years. We'll see if the Broncos can regroup. Jim

Jim Let's face the facts, both of us don't care about meaningful playoff wins. It's all about winning the last game of the season, anything short of that is a losing season. I've examined my superstitions, btw. I just don't like my words thrown back in my face, which is why I try to assume a more humble position when a rivalry is involved. There's no fun in that though, so I gotta check out who's gonna kick the Broncos butts next weekend............... I mean, if the the Rams can do it, any team can beat them.

Agreed about the last game. Do you think Eli will get his third ring this year? This patch is good for the Broncos, I think. Last year and the year before it were too easy. After Elway lost a couple of Super Bowls, The Broncos had to take to the tough road - as a wildcard team - to finally win the last game. But ultimately the tough road is what directly led to an incredible upset of Green Bay. We can assume that the road to the Super Bowl leads through Foxborough this year. OK, I think a 1 in 5 shot of winning the AFC championship followed by a Super Bowl with a sense of invincibility would be far better than home filed advantage (again) followed by a Super Bowl lost because of tentative play, second guessing and worry. Know what I mean?

It's all about injuries at this point, so it remains to be seen if the AFC championship goes through Foxboro. Eli's last two rings came about when the Giants were down and out and written off at about this point in the season. They were embarrassing themselves, yet somehow managed to turn it around. The last team I want to see get into the playoffs is the Giants - there's always been a NY/Boston sports rivalry.
That Broncos/GB game was the most exciting(non-Patriot) Superbowl I'd ever seen.
Can you believe how average Seattle and SF are playing?

It's too bad the Broncos had to waste a home game against the Fish. Denver fans could have easily bought most of the tickets at Sun Life Stadium and turned it into a Broncos home game, many opposing fans do. Dolphin's fans suck...............and Miami is a good destination for opposing fans this time of year.

The Patriots play in Green bay. If they can make it there they can make it anywhere. We play at KC. I don't need to tell a Patriots fan how tough that will be! The Broncos stared into the abyss yesterday and found their way out. PM threw for 4 TDs with no picks. He completed 22 of 22 short passes. And it was cold as hell, windy and snowing lightly for much of the game. The "PM can't play in cold weather" story line never seems to get much mention after PM plays well in cold weather... Next week, that's the biggie. Jim

Could you QB in Kansas City with the temps in the low 20s/teens and the wind blowing so hard that a player had to hold the ball on the tee for each and every kickoff? (Maybe they have better tees in Green bay, the ball seemed to stay put...I don't suppose it could have been the fierce icy winds in KC knocking those balls around...) Did you see the play in the first quarter of the Broncos game where the ball was just sitting on the line of scrimmage and then it blew a yard or two down field without even being touched? - the refs had to re-set the play. I don't think I've ever seen that! Must be some serious thickness to that air in KC. I suppose the Patriots will take care of business next week in sunny San Diego, and thus secure home field because of their super-soft AFC East schedule. But, you never know. It's been several years since the Patriots beat an AFC West team on the road. The lip readers among us (and just about everyone else) did get some insight into the limited extent of pouty-boy Brady's vocabulary. He apparently only knows one word, but he says it with authority. That was entertaining. Jim

Yup, PM uses his expanded vocabulary more often than Brady. It appears he's rather proud of the only multi-syllabic word he knows - Omaha!!
I tuned into the game often for scoring updates, but didn't see the entire game.
