It came early this year... But football... Hope is eternal in the Mile High City!

Woodrowli,
It's been a tough week for me personally, and I'm feel like I'm a tumbleweed drifting along. BUT today was a good day, and things appear to be resolving themselves, with some hard work and $$$ of course. Two major crisis averted, one left, but it's manageable.

May all crisis quickly be resolved and you can return to more enjoyable days. Glad to hear one was averted, hope the other remains manageable.

Must be a virus.
While a trip to the DMV to renew car tags proved easier and speedier than expected, when I went to put the new sticker on the back plate, I discovered that the vinyl coating has cracked in multiple areas. A full quarter of the surface has bubbled, shrunk and appeared to be about to flake off pretty much altogether.
I've never ever had a plate do anything that spectacular so called the DMV to ask if I bring in the obviously defective plate, how do I get a replacement. PAY TWELVE BUCKS!!!! We soooooooo do not think so. A bit of super glue seems to be holding it together for the moment, but the unusually harsh and early winter forecast for us will likely make hash of my glue job. So, I guess I'll spend the weekend psyching up to pitch a DMV hissy fit if they won't replace it without charging us.
And, in the midst of all that, we got a notice from the complex that barbecue grills can no longer be used, Gotta get them off the deck/patio by middle of next month. Luckily, ours is a small Weber grill that I am stashing out of sight. I've had it for nearly 25 years, and it's a lot more solidly made than the ones sold now. Easy enough to store in case we move where we could use it again, or mgmt relaxes the ban which they've done on other stuff.
Anybody want about 15 pounds of Kingsford briquets, you haul 'em?
The bright side of that is that we decided not to buy a bigger grill late in the spring to the tune of about $200. Damn glad now we didn't!

Dot,
What are your responsibilities in regard to plate upkeep?
I'm in the process of helping my daughter relocate - what a nightmare. I thought I had a deal complete on a condo rental, but the condo assoc got involved, and I had to cancel the deal. It would have been a great condo nazi episode on Seinfeld. Anyway, it's always dad to the rescue.

What the hell is done for license plate maintenance other than a spritz of something like Fantastic and wiping mud or road grunge off so it can be read?
I've never seen a plate peel off like this. Front one looks fine, as it did when we got them 6 years ago. Back plate is crap.

That's what hubby said. We see a lotta vehicles with no front plate. Bet the metro cops have more to do with outbreaks like Ferguson than ticket peeps for plate violations.

Here it seems most of the vehicles have either out of State plates, Reservation plates or no plates. I sometimes wonder if ND actually issues plates. Something about if a vehicle is used primarily for Farm purposes, plates are not required. but I find it hard to believe that a 2015 Maserati is being used primarily for farm purposes.
