Yesterday was my wife's birthday, so of course we had to celebrate her 60th and we had to do it in style with 2lb lobsters. It pretty much wrapped up a weeked of seafood over indulgence I haven't seen since............I don't know when. But now I'm done with that, laying here with ice packs on my swollen gauze filled mouth, dreaming of frozen smoothies to get me through the next couple of days. If any of my posts seem to be more imbecile than usual, simply blame them on the two bottom wisdom teeth I just had removed, and the vicadin.

Yup, my wife is beating me up with that claim. I was flossing all the time back there and it was always very tight. Finally my dentist noticed the fillings next to the wisdom teeth were deteriorating, and in order to fix those properly, the wisdom teeth had to come out.

You have my sympathy. That is even worse then getting stuck dancing with Hilda Hoffenschlupper in high school.

Ummmm, you probably don't wanna hear that I never had wisdom teeth. The dentist whoexamined the xray to find out if I did or didn't said I was plenty smart not to have them, they're nothing but trouble. So, looks like I'm more than wise enough.
:::::::: running away fast so as not to get smacked ::::::::
(Hope your wife had a great birthday. Eating lobster would make my day.)

I think she did, thanks for asking. Big 60 for her, I'm still in my 50's until the 26th. The painful thing is that we left the leftover lobster in her car overnight. Oh well, better luck next time.

It still sounds like overall y'all had a great time. Glad to hear You enjoyed the day. Don't look at it as forgetting the lobster in the car, think of it as making Sea Gull bait. Now if you have a desire to catch a gull, you have the bait ready

I hate people who can eat fresh seafood any old time just so's ya know.
Out here, that stuff is flown in daily and priced out the wazoo. When a pound of king crab legs runs 40-50 bucks, I've never been brave enough to ask what constitutes "Market Price" (which probably is "Marked waaaaaay up Price") for a 1-lb. lobster.

New England clam boil tonight, can't wait, assuming steamers are available. For some reason there has been a shortage of long necked clams.

New England clam boil tonight, can't wait, assuming steamers are available. For some reason there has been a shortage of long necked clams. That does it, I am not going back to CT until there is an ample supply of long necks. Although I might be enticed by some steamed Cherry Stones. OK if you got the steamers I'll check the flights out of Fargo and see if I can be there tonight. Let me see 2 hour drive to Fargo. It is now 9:30 PM. Let's see if I can rent an F-15 and they have it warmed up on the runway I can be there by Hmmmm 1:30 AM (2:30 your time) provided I can get by with landing on the road in front of your house and the FAA is not aware I have only flown F-86s, T-33s and Cessna 172s Now to check my Checking account....Still at 37 cents. I might have a little problem. don't wait up for me.

Hold onto your 37 cents, no steamers available. Had to settle for littlenecks, which I'm not crazy about, but ate nonetheless. I'm sure you could easily pilot an F-15, it's like riding a bike. Gas prices are coming down, perhaps in a few months that 37 cents might get you here. The Quonset airbase is about a mile away by kayak, you can land there. I have a tandem kayak we can use................. and I promise not to use the old front paddler doing all the work trick.
The last time I kayaked out to Quonset the wind and tides were brutal. My son still talks about it. He was about 200 yards ahead of me when turned around and paddled back towards me. When he got near me he said, "dad, you do know that you haven't moved anywhere in the last 20 minutes?" "What the hell are you talking about", I said. "Look behind you", he replied. I was 15 feet away from a pier that I had passed 20 minutes earlier. I could only match the winds and current and I was a long way from home. I made it back, but I was sore and exhausted. The little punk had the guts to ask me if I needed him to tow me back. Can you believe that? I would have rather died out there rather than suffer with that indignity for the rest of my life. He's a smart ass punk, probably gets that from his mother.

From his mother...uh-huh. Likely story.
Looks to me like a classic case of apple don't fall far from tree.

And most of women's troubles in life begin with the letters M. E. N., too.
