As the students call it, tolm.org is a little piece of heaven. Most coming from either single parent or no parent homes as well as some being orphans, it is a place where they can get an first class education, medical treatment, food and clothing, and a top notch vocational training to break the poverty cycle. Three of the children were received from a grandmothers house who didn't want to loose the children but didn't have money to support them. Dirt was something to quench the hunger for the children. I remember when I participated in the construction of the first building some 20+ years ago. Indeed, a piece of heaven for these young people. Incidentally, education after 6th grade is not free in Honduras so a high-school diploma is a make-it or break-it opportunity to help a family.

We brought with us some 30 pieces of luggage filled with clothing for all sizes. We have created 600 bags of clothes to be handed out in two towns complete with tooth brush and tooth paste--a commodity in this area. Some of the crew sorting the clothing and creating the bags

Yes, 21st century equipment. Raw muscles and tomorrows aching backs. Making an entrance so that one doesn't need a 4x4 to get through when it pours. My son came with me on this one, first time return for probably 2 decades. My granddaughter is there with us too. Yes... this is a photo-op of my granddaughter--big heart but heavy shovel. Dad is next to here.
