I think this interactive graphic is pretty cool. The premise is that the political climate during a person's politically formative years will influence their politics for life. For example, those who came of age politically during the Kennedy years or Vietnam are slightly more likely to be life long Democrats and those who became politically aware during the Reagan years are somewhat more likely to be Republicans. Obviously there are tons of exceptions to be cited at the individual level and the data is for whites - but these are interesting population wide trends. www.nytimes.com/interactive/2014/07/08/upshot/how-the-year-you-were-born-influences-your-politics.html?rref=upshotJim

I'm all over the place.
Hated Nixon, Carter, Clinton, GW(2nd term). Disliked Obama 2nd Term. Loved Reagan. Liked Dad Bush, GW(1st term), Obama(1st term). Felt sorry for LBJ.
If Hillary is the Dem candidate in 2016, any candidate from the GOP will get my vote, except if they're from TX. If it's between Hillary and a GOP candidate from TX, I'm not voting for president.

I must admit I've chilled notably on Hillary since my kid sister told me that the Hillary people got a really bad reputation at the last Iowa caucus for ignoring agreed-upon policies and rules. She said that's partially why she backed Obama once Dennis Kucinich's candidacy became an evident no-go.
I must say when I investigated Kucinich's positions on various issues along with how he's regarded, I was saddened by the fact that a grassroots effort like his simply won't get far anymore. He seemed to me to be an old school public servant, one genuinely devoted to compromise when that is necessary.
