Where religion prospers, so do male hierarchical authority structures. We have no reason whatsoever to be surprised. If ever there were cause for seeing religion as a man made construct for the legitimization of illegitimate power, the consistent subjugation of women as second class citizens would be it.
Kelly and Dehlin both hope to be allowed to continue to be members of a church that they love and that has been a part of their lives since birth. Both served Mormon missions and were married in temples.
That appears to me to be a very bizarre sentiment in light of LDS's excommunication efforts. I don't get religious people.
