The next book in a series I've followed since the late 90's is on its way from Amazon. As usual, it's a honker of a book (over 800 pages) likely to take me a few days to blaze my way through.
So when I vanish again this weekend, that'll be why. The author has the main characters about to become embroiled in the Revolutionary War, one of my longtime interests historically. Hell, I wrote my very first term paper ever on the Battle of Yorktown; that's what a nerd I was at age 12!
Anyway, TTFN [ta-ta for now], Dot

I grew up in the New England states, It was neat being able to visit the places where most of "The Revolutionary War" took place.

Characters only got into the Battle of Monmouth, NJ so not a lot of Rev War action. Damn good book though. Now, as long as it takes for another to be published (4-5 yrs), I'd better focus less on reading and more on exercise what with the gorgeous weather we're now having. I got a nice 2-mile trek this morning on a pleasant "wussy" trail and picked up the latest edition of a book that suggests hikes of various lengths and difficulty all within 60 miles of St. Looey. I'm planning on doing as many of those as I can get to easily. Luckily, over half are within 30 miles of home. Does rather seem peculiar to drive 20-plus miles just to find an interesting hike.
