Arizona Governor Jan Brewer has until Friday to decide whether she will veto the anti-gay "religious freedom" legislation that now sits on her desk. In a bizarre turn of events, three republican state senators, who just days ago joined the Republican senate caucus in unanimously approving the bill are expressing misgivings and recommending a gubernatorial veto. When Bigots Get Cold FeetWhile I am gratified that three of the perpetrators are expressing remorse, how the hell can such a bill have gotten unanimous support from the Arizona Senate GOP caucus? We have been told that the activist bigots are only a tiny fringe of the Republican party, akin to the Wall Street occupiers on the left. Actual evidence like this seems to suggest that bigotry is mainstream within the party.
